The Project

Hillston Sun farm (“Hillston”) is 119MWdc solar photovoltaic development in south-west New South Wales. Hillston was awarded Planning Consent by the NSW State Government on 26th October 2017.

The project has been developed approximately 3.5km south the township of Hillston in the Carrathool Shire.

Project Location

Hillston Sun Farm is located 3.5km south of the township of Hillston within the Carrathool Shire local government area in southwest New South Wales.

The site is adjacent to the Essential Energy 132/33 kV Hillston sub-station and  serviced by Kidman Way which connects Hillston to the major NSW rural centre of Griffith, approximately 110km south of Hillston.

Development Approvals

The project is a State Significant Development (SSD) under the State Environmental Planning Policy (State and Regional Development) 2011 (SRD SEPP).

The Hillston Sun Farm project was granted Development consent (SSD 7955) under Section 89E of the NSW Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (EP&A Act) on 26th October 2017.
Two modifications have been approved to the original consent:

Environmental Management

Hillston Sun Farm is committed to responsibly implement the project while addressing potential environmental impacts.
